Weighted Risk¶
When a manager or team lead is reviewing a leave request, TeamHub shows a Weighted Risk indicator alongside the request. This gives the reviewer an at-a-glance sense of how much leave overlap exists on the team during the requested period.
What Does It Show?¶
The Weighted Risk field displays two pieces of information:
A risk rating — Low, Med, or High
An overlap count — how many overlapping leave entries from other team members fall within the requested dates
For example: Med · 2 overlapping entries means two other team members have leave that overlaps with the requested period.
How Is the Rating Calculated?¶
The rating is based on the weighted overlap between the requested leave dates and existing team leave, expressed as a percentage of the rest of the team. The weight of each overlapping entry increases the more its dates coincide with the request. The rating thresholds are:
Low — 0% weighted score. No overlapping leave found.
Med — 1% to 30% weighted score. A small degree of overlapping leave.
High — More than 30% weighted score. A significant degree of overlapping leave.
These thresholds are a guide to help the reviewer make an informed decision. Approval always rests with the reviewer.
What Counts as Overlapping?¶
A leave entry is counted if:
Its dates overlap with the requested leave in any way — even partially.
Its status is Approved, Pending first review, or Pending final review.
Declined, cancelled, and the requesting employee’s own leave are excluded.
Hover for Detail¶
Hovering over the Weighted Risk field shows a tooltip listing each team member with overlapping leave, their leave type, and their dates. This makes it easy to see exactly who is away without leaving the review screen.
Note
Weighted Risk only considers members of the same team as the person requesting leave. Members of other teams are not included in the calculation.
